About Us
Rooted in Tradition. Crafted for Today.

The story of Castiello began more than 50 years ago with a vision that, at the time, seemed almost impossible: bringing Argentine yerba mate to the world. In 1974, Bienvenido Castiello began exporting yerba mate under his own brand, Castiello, along with other recognized brands such as Rigoletto, Ñandutí, Campeón, and Burrito. At that time, there were virtually no yerba mate brands established in the Middle East. Castiello was one of the pioneering companies that helped open this market and introduce the Argentine mate tradition to a region that would eventually become the world’s leading destination for Argentine yerba mate exports.
Within Misiones, the company specifically selected the area of Comandante Andresito, known for the exceptional quality of its soil, climate, and premium plantations. The plantations historically connected to Castiello are located there, ensuring outstanding raw material quality and a distinctive flavor that has defined the brand for decades. Ten years later, in 1984, Castiello completed its first export shipment to Malaysia, opening the door to the Asian market. Two years later, in 1986, the company made its first export to Japan, marking one of its earliest expansions into Asia.
Beginning in the year 2000, the company’s second generation took leadership: Liliana Esther Castiello and Marcelo Bronenberg. During this stage, the company consolidated its international presence and focused much of its growth on the Middle East, where the brand already had strong recognition and history. With a long-term vision, the family continued strengthening commercial relationships, improving product quality, and preserving the essence that has always defined Castiello: a yerba mate with authentic flavor, high yield, and made to be shared. In 2025, a new chapter began with the third generation of the family business.
Nicolás Bronenberg, grandson of Bienvenido Castiello, took on the challenge of expanding the brand into new markets and adapting the mate tradition to a new global era.
Under this new vision, Castiello opened offices in Shanghai, China, and California, United States, while also expanding exports to Australia and Panama, bringing Argentine mate culture to new international markets.
At the same time, the company began developing new products and a new brand called Delicias de la Selva, focused on frozen peeled cassava and natural sodas inspired by jungle flavors and South American regional fruits.
This new stage represents the combination of tradition and innovation: preserving the family legacy while creating products designed for new generations and international markets.
Today, Castiello represents much more than yerba mate.
